Hossein Shayeghi, is a Distinguished Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, his Master’s degree from Amirkabir University of Technology, and his PhD in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2005. In addition to teaching specialized courses at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels in electrical power engineering, he has held various executive roles and founded two research centers: the Technology Incubation Center at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili and the Ardabil Province Elite Foundation. During his tenure, the Technology Incubation Center achieved the sixth rank among the country’s science and technology parks and incubation centers in 2008, based on evaluations by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
Beyond his academic contributions, Dr. Shayeghi has been actively involved in various national and international scientific and executive councils, specialized working groups of the provincial government, and committees of the National Organization for Engineering and Building. He is a founding member of the Ardabil Branch of the Iranian Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and serves on its board of directors. Additionally, he is the Head of the Ardabil provincial branch of the Iran Energy Association, a representative of the Iran Smart Energy Networks Association in the Ardabil province, a member of the board of directors of the Iran Wind Energy Association, and Head of its provincial branch. Dr. Shayeghi served as a member of the board of directors of the Ardabil Province Engineering from 2009 to 2021 and was selected as the Outstanding Researcher of the National Organization for Engineering and Building in 2012.
His most notable research achievements include authoring 12 specialized books in electrical engineering, contributing 20 book chapters, publishing over 300 articles in reputable international journals, presenting more than 240 papers at international conferences and national seminars, completing over 10 industrial and technological projects, conducting 30 research projects, and registering three patents. Furthermore, he serves as the editor-in-chief of two internationally indexed Scopus journals, is a member of the editorial board of eight scientific-research journals, and acts as a reviewer for over 30 specialized international journals and reputable conferences in the field of electrical power engineering.
In 2023, Dr. Shayeghi was recognized as the Distinguished Researcher of Iran in the field of engineering and technology by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, Iran. Since 2015, for 9th consecutive years, he has been listed among the top 1% of scientists and elites worldwide according to the Thomson Reuters (ISI) database, as confirmed by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC). In 2015, he was selected as a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Dr. Shayeghi was named the Outstanding Researcher of Ardabil Province in the field of engineering and technology in 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2022 and 2025, and was recognized as the most-cited author in the province in 2011 and 2013. In 2024, the Journal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering, under his leadership, was selected as the top journal by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, Iran. In 2017, he was honored as a distinguished member of the Iran Wind Energy Association.
