According to the Public Relations Office of the Energy Management Research Center, Dr. Hossein Shayeghi and Dr. Hadi Ghaebi from among the EMRC members have been listed among the top 1% of the world's most highly cited researchers.
The Public Relations Office of the Energy Management Research Center stated that this distinction is based on data published by the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), a database maintained by Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science), and is also confirmed by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC). Dr. Hossein Shayeghi, Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, has been listed among the world’s top 1% most highly cited researchers for the tenth consecutive year, while Dr. Hadi Ghaebi, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has achieved this distinction for the fourth consecutive year.
The selection of the world’s top 1% most highly cited researchers is conducted across 22 scientific subject areas. The data used in the analysis and identification of these top researchers is extracted from the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database. The inclusion of EMRC alumni in the published list reflects the high quality of education and research at the EMRC.

JOAPE Awarded as Premier Power Engineering Journal JOAPE Achieves National Honor and International Indexing in Power Engineering

The Journal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering (JOAPE), published by the Energy Management Research Center at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, was honored as the distinguished scientific journal at Iran’s 25th National Festival for Recognizing Outstanding Researchers, Technologists, and Innovators in 2025. Led by Editor-in-Chief Prof. Hossein Shayeghi, JOAPE has been continuously published since 2011 and is indexed in prominent international databases such as Scopus and DOAJ. The journal has shown significant growth, including a 250% increase in contributions from international authors. The Public Relations Office praised the editorial team’s efforts and expressed optimism about the journal’s future advancements, especially with its anticipated indexing in the Web of Science database.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Energy and Data Management Research Center, it was announced that the Journal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering (JOAPE), published under the direction and Editor-in-chief of Hossein Shayeghi, Distinguished Professor at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, has been selected as the distinguished journal in the Engineering and Technology category at the 25th National Festival for Honoring Distinguished Researchers, Technologists, and Innovators. The journal was recognized and honored by the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology for its exceptional contributions. He added that the journal was launched in 2011 with the support of the Vice Presidency for Research and Technology at the university, in collaboration with the Iranian Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It obtained scientific credibility approval from the Ministry of Science's Publication Commission in 2012 and has been continuously published since then. Dr. Jabraeil Razmjou, the vice-chancellor for Research and Technology at UMA, announced that six members of the faculty, alumni, and invited researchers of the UMA secured an honored position among the top one percent of most cited researchers in the world. Based on the recent data published by the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) from Clarivate Analytics (WOS), and also confirmed by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Dr. Hossein Shayegi, professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, for the 10th consecutive year; Dr. Aziz Habibi, professor in the Chemistry Department, for the 5th consecutive year; Dr. Hadi Ghaeibi, professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department, for the 4th consecutive year; Eng. Hadi Rostamzadeh, an alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering Department, for the 3rd consecutive year; Dr. Zahra Ahmadi, a member of the invited researchers foundation at UMA, for the 2nd consecutive year; and Eng. Tohid Parikhani, an alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering Department, for the 1st time, were enlisted among the top one percent of the most cited researchers in the world. He added that the presence of alumni from the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili in the above list reflects the high quality of education and research at this university. He also noted that the list of the top one percent of most cited researchers in the world is announced in 22 areas of science the data of which is extracted from the ESI database. He congratulated this great scientific achievement to the academic community, expressing hope for still more achievements to come.
