Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili was established in October 1994 with the admission of students in the field of Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Food Industries. Over the years, the department has expanded its academic and research activities and is now recognized as one of the active and growing departments of the university.

The department currently offers programs at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels. At the master’s level, students are admitted to three specialized fields: Separation Processes, Process Design, and Nanotechnology. In addition, the PhD program in Chemical Engineering provides an advanced research‑oriented environment for training experts capable of contributing to the scientific, industrial, and technological development of the country.

The Department of Chemical Engineering is supported by 12 full‑time faculty members, including 3 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, and 5 Assistant Professors, all of whom are actively engaged in high‑quality teaching, research, and supervision of graduate‑level projects. The diverse academic backgrounds and research expertise of the faculty help create a dynamic environment that fosters scientific innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Research Facilities and Laboratories

The department offers strong research infrastructure, particularly for graduate students, through well‑equipped laboratories that support advanced experimental and analytical work. In addition to the department’s specialized research laboratories, the Central Laboratory of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili provides access to modern, high‑precision instruments required for conducting scientific analyses and experimental studies at an advanced level.

The department’s research laboratories include:

  1. Polymer Laboratory
  2. Water and Wastewater Laboratory
  3. Oil and Petrochemical Laboratory
  4. Nanotechnology Laboratory
  5. Separation Processes Laboratory
  6. Biotechnology and Food Industries Laboratory

These facilities enable students and researchers to carry out applied and fundamental studies in key areas of chemical engineering, helping bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industrial needs. The Department of Chemical Engineering remains committed to improving the quality of education, advancing scientific research, and contributing effectively to national technological development.
