52-step improvement of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili in the ranking of green management of world universities in 2021 / winning the third place in the country for the second consecutive year
The Chancellor of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili said: This University was ranked 3rd in Iran and 155th in the world in the Green Metric ranking of world universities in 2021.
According to the university's public relations, Professor Aziz Habibi Yangjeh added: "According to the ranking announced by Green Metric, University of Mohaghegh Ardabili was evaluated in this ranking and was able to rank 155th in the world and upgrade 52 steps compared to last year.
He added: "In this ranking the world universities, every year in December, based on six different indicators, including the existing infrastructure in order to create a suitable environment, attention to optimal energy consumption and climate change, waste recycling rate, consumption rate and water recycling, the use of pollution-free transportation systems, as well as education and research in the field of environmental protection, are evaluated as the main indicators.
Habibi stated: University of Mohaghegh Ardabili in terms of gaining Green Metric score has improved by 12.3% compared to last year, which confirms the progress in all indicators, in this regard, the score gap with the second university in the country has decreased from 825 to 175.
The Chancellor of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili pointed out: Among the most important measures taken by the university in this field are the allocation of about 20 billion rails for development of green space and landscaping, planting of trees resistant to water shortage, installation of meters in each unit to monitor the amount consumption of water and electricity, installation of revolving doors and automatic doors to limit energy loss in different sections, installation of timers and motion sensors for lighting systems, analysis of waste production per unit, identification of hazardous waste and their separation, separation of types of waste He mentioned the replacement of disposable containers with vegetable and paper containers, the installation of double-glazed windows, the insulation of hot water pipes, the standardization of the engine room and the acquisition of energy labels, as well as the smartening of engine rooms and heating systems.
He said: "Holding several conferences in the field of green management, directing dissertations and research to topics related to green management such as environmental protection and renewable energy, reducing paper consumption by banning hard copy printing of dissertations and use Electronic measures instead and also the formation of a green scientific association and support for student activities in this field are other measures taken in this regard.
Dr. Habibi emphasized: The rank obtained and the gradual progress in the Green Metric ranking is a proof of the right path that the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili has taken in the direction of green management and environmental protection, and it is hoped that with the planning and collective efforts of the large family, the university moves faster in this direction.
It should be noted that the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili has a better ranking in this ranking than the universities of Tehran, Arak, Bu Ali Sina Hamedan, Shiraz, Amirkabir, Sanati Sharif, Yazd and Tabriz.
