The Department of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering provides two undergraduate degree programs and one Master's degree program:
- Materials and Metallurgical Engineering
Materials and Metallurgical Engineering forms a vital bridge between fundamental sciences (chemistry, physics) and industry. This discipline focuses on characterizing material structures across various scales to establish structure-property-performance relationships in engineered materials. These principles drive:
- Enhancement of material properties and component performance
- Development of novel advanced materials
- Design/optimization of material processing and manufacturing methodologies.
The curriculum encompasses comprehensive study of metals, alloys, ceramics, polymers, composites, semiconductors, nanomaterials, biomaterials, and smart materials.
The Materials Engineering group at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili was established in 2020, admitting its first cohort of undergraduate (BSc) students. It currently has five full-time faculty members conducting teaching and research activities in various disciplines within the field of Materials Engineering.
- Manufacturing Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering empowers professionals to integrate mechanical and materials science into efficient, competitive production systems. As technology advances and market demands grow, this field integrates theoretical knowledge with practical solutions for modern industry. Students gain expertise in manufacturing methods, tools, and technologies—from automation to precision machining and advanced process control.
Since introducing our Master’s program in 2010 and Bachelor’s program in 2023, we’ve trained graduates who lead innovation in:
- Machine tool & precision instrument design
- Advanced control systems for smart manufacturing
- Metallurgical forming processes
- Material selection & optimization
- Technology transfer & industrial development
