The field of geography, with its development-oriented nature and focus on spatial organization of the environment from various aspects of urban and rural planning, provides spatial organization in environmental planning, land use planning, and political geography. The research philosophy in this group is fundamental and applied, aiming to contribute to the well-being, comfort, and security of humans in urban and rural environments and to balance the relationship between humans and the environment. The goal of postgraduate education in the fields of geography and rural planning, geography and urban planning, land use planning, and political geography is to flourish and train graduates with relevant research capabilities. The Department of Geography at Mohaghegh Ardabili University was established in 2008. This group initially started its activities at the master's level in geography and urban planning and geography and rural planning, and then in the following years it has developed scientific activities at the doctoral level in this field. On the other hand, in recent years, the program for the development of academic trends in geography The field of planning, spatial planning and political geography has also been approved and is being launched. Currently, the establishment of new fields and recruitment of faculty members in accordance with diverse scientific trends are on the group's agenda.
