The Water Engineering and Mineral Waters Research Group aims to advance knowledge and technology in the areas of surface and groundwater resources, quantitative and qualitative water management, and sustainable utilization of mineral waters. In line with the educational and research missions of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the group focuses its activities on the following research domains:

Main Research Areas:

  • Hydrology and modeling of the water cycle at basin and regional scales
  • Optimal management of water resources and drought assessment
  • Evaluation and monitoring of the quality of surface and groundwater
  • Specialized studies on mineral waters, their chemical composition, and therapeutic applications
  • Assessment of climate change impacts on water resources
  • Design of sustainable water treatment and purification systems

Key Objectives:

  • Promoting interdisciplinary research between civil engineering, geology, and environmental sciences
  • Providing scientific solutions for integrated water resource management in arid and semi-arid regions
  • Identifying and preserving the country’s mineral water resources
  • Establishing academic and industrial collaborations with mineral water industries and regional water authorities

Members and Research Structure:

The group consists of faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering specializing in water engineering, hydraulic structures, and environmental engineering, with active participation of graduate students through research theses and dissertations related to the group’s research themes.
