The Construction Materials Laboratory focuses on the experimental evaluation and characterization of materials used in civil engineering applications, including aggregates, cementitious materials, masonry units, and innovative building composites. General Specifications:
This device is used for extracting bitumen from asphalt and determining the bitumen content. A sample of up to 1500 grams is placed in the bowl, and by adding solvent and rotating the bowl using a lever, the bitumen can be separated from the asphalt, leaving only the aggregate materials. The device includes an aluminum bowl and lid with a capacity of 1500 grams, mounted on an aluminum base. The suitable filter for this device has an outer diameter of 250 mm.
