Welcome to the Solar Cells and Solar Concentrators Research Laboratory.
In recent years, energy supply has affected the daily lives of people, so that every country incurs a lot of costs for energy production and consumption. Today, humanity is facing two major crises. On the one hand, industrial societies and large cities are facing the problem of environmental pollution, and on the other hand, it is observed that the raw materials and fuel required for industrial applications, etc. are running out at an increasing pace. Therefore, the use of new energies such as solar energy, due to the most abundant and cleanest energy source, can have a special place in providing human energy. Solar energy can be converted directly or indirectly into other forms of energy such as electricity. Solar cells can be used to convert solar energy into electrical energy. Achieving the highest efficiency of converting solar energy into electricity at the lowest cost has been one of the main drivers and motivations for research and development in the field of photovoltaic in recent decades. Currently, the costs of manufacturing a new generation of photovoltaic panels are very high, and various ways are being pursued to achieve lower costs. Light-generating solar concentrators are an alternative method for reducing photovoltaic costs. The Solar Cells and Solar Concentrators Laboratory of the Department Physics of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili has been established mainly for the purpose of conducting research work and conducting research work for graduate students, although the devices available in it can also be a very suitable educational tool for students, especially graduate students.
