About:
The Department of Statistics and Applications is an integral part of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili (UMA), located in Ardabil, Iran. The department is committed to providing high-quality education, research, and training in the field of statistics and its wide-ranging applications. Our mission is to equip students with strong analytical, computational, and problem-solving skills to address real-world challenges in science, industry, and society. 
Establishment and Overview:
The Department of Statistics and Applications was founded as part of UMA’s commitment to advancing quantitative sciences and contributing to evidence-driven decision-making across various domains. Over the years, we have built a strong academic reputation, offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in statistics and applied data sciences. 
Our department plays a key role in preparing students for careers in academia, statistical consulting, data analysis, business analytics, finance, and other sectors where statistical expertise is essential. 
Educational Programs: 
Undergraduate Program (B.Sc.) in Statistics and Applications: 
This program develops students’ understanding of fundamental statistical theories, methods, and their applications in economics, engineering, medical sciences, and social research. Students gain proficiency in probability, statistical inference, regression modeling, experimental design, sampling, and statistical computing. 
Master’s Program (M.Sc.) in Statistics: 
The master’s program offers only in Mathematical, enabling students to deepen their expertise in this field. 
Ph.D. Program: 
The doctoral program will focus on advanced statistical methodology, interdisciplinary research, and innovative applications in science, technology, and public policy. Doctoral students will be encouraged to work closely with faculty members on projects of national and international relevance. 
Research Focus:  
The department’s research covers both theoretical and applied statistics, with special attention to real-world problem-solving. Current research areas include:
