The Department of Law was established in 1396 (2017) at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili , and for the first time, students were admitted to the Bachelor of Laws program. After several student admission cycles and with the completion of the academic staff of the department, the admission of students to the Master of Private Laws program has also started in 1403 (2024). Based on the correspondence, the license for the Master of Economic Laws program will also be issued in the next few months.
The department intends to establish a Master of Criminal Law and Criminology program within the next 2 years at the most.
Currently, the department has 5 full-time faculty members in various legal disciplines, of course, one with a specialization in Criminal Law and Criminology and one with an international law degree will join us by March of this year. In addition to the full-time faculty members, about 13 lawyers and judges who are also researchers in the PhD program in law or have completed their education work part-time in the department and provide specialized courses.
The purpose of establishing the field of law at the undergraduate and higher levels is to gradually, following some preliminary and fundamental studies, study in detail and analyze the regulations and rules governing the relationships and various aspects of social life in the form of the main branches of this science, namely private law, criminal law and criminology, public law and international law. The purpose of this field is to train experts who can work in professions such as judgment, advocacy, notary public, etc., by observing the relevant regulations. During the 8 years since the group began its activities, many successes have been achieved through the efforts of the group's capable and expert students and professors, such that several of the country's top graduates have ranked highly in the master's entrance exam in 1401 (2022) and 1402 (2023). In order to deepen the scientific and theoretical foundations and link them to the country's current legal issues and events, we are planning to establish a university legal clinic where final-year undergraduate and graduate students, under the supervision of professors, will provide advisory opinions on clients and will also conduct applied research in cooperation with public institutions.
