Research in the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences is organized around Research Groups and Labs. These groups bring together Faculty staff and research students with similar interests to focus on particular areas of education research, develop projects, undertake joint activities, and share expertise.
Research areas of interest to the CTCIP research group include Coding Theory, Information Theory, Cryptography, Image Proessing and their applications to communications. Some specific applications under study at the moment are listed below.
Data science combines math and statistics, specialized programming, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning with specific subject matter expertise to uncover actionable insights hidden in an organization's data. These insights can be used to guide decision making and strategic planning.
