The Public Relations Office of the Energy Management Research Center announced that the Journal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering (JOAPE), published by the Energy Management Research Center at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, has been selected as the Outstanding Journal in the Field of Engineering and Technology at the 25th National Festival for Honoring Top Researchers, Technologists, and Innovators (2024). The journal was officially recognized and honored by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the Center’s Public Relations Office, The Journal of Operation and Automation in Power Engineering, led by Prof. Hossein Shayegi, Distinguished Professor and Head of the Energy Management Research Center, was chosen as the top journal in the engineering and technology category and was commended by the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology.
He noted that the journal was launched in 2011 with the support of the university's Vice Presidency for Research and Technology, in collaboration with the Iranian Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and received its official scientific accreditation from the Ministry’s Journals Commission in 2012. It has since been published continuously by the Center.
The Head of the Center further highlighted that the journal has been indexed in the international Scopus database since 2019 with a Q3 quartile in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Energy, Control, and Applied Mathematics. He added that JOAPE has also held an international scientific ranking from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology since 2022.
He emphasized that the journal has been listed as a core publication in the ISC citation index since 2023, and is also indexed in DOAJ, with an h-index of 20 according to Google Scholar. Furthermore, the journal has seen over 250% growth in contributions from international authors as reported by Scopus.
The Head of the Center expressed deep appreciation for the outstanding efforts of the editorial team, especially Prof. Hossein Shayegi (Editor-in-Chief and Director), Dr. Amin Safari (Managing Editor), and Dr. Abdollah Younesi (Executive Manager). He congratulated the academic and research community of the province and the country on this significant achievement and expressed hope that JOAPE will soon be indexed in Web of Science (WOS), marking another milestone in the scientific excellence of the Center and University of Mohaghegh Ardabili at both national and international levels.
