Department of counseling
The Counseling department of University Mohaghegh Ardabili was established in the Faculty of Humanities of the university in 2011 and is currently located in the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology. This field offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees in four majors, and a Ph.D. degree in pure counseling. The field of educational psychology at master's and Ph.D. levels is under the counseling group.

Currently, this department has four faculty members specializing in counseling and two faculty members specializing in educational psychology, and it is applying for faculty recruitment every year.
Department’s Facilities
Although the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili has allowed all students to use the facilities and laboratories of different educational groups, it is possible for counseling students to use the facilities of the student counseling center and the psychology laboratory and counseling environments at the university jointly. Four independent classes are allocated for counseling students at different levels. The existence of a suitable space for play therapy is also suitable for acquiring skills in working with children within the faculty and concluding a memorandum of understanding with government and private organizations to use the facilities available in the city of Ardabil to conduct internships in the fields of family, school, addiction, and the elderly, among the suitable conditions for education and research in this field. Currently, two scientific journals in English are published under the supervision of the counseling group colleagues with the usual scientific licenses:

Research in the field of family and prevention of disorders, as well as research in educational fields, especially academic problems, are among the various concerns of the group's faculty colleagues.
