Department of Arabic Language and Literature

The Department of Arabic Language and Literature is one of the key units of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, located in Ardabil, Iran. The department was established with the aim of enhancing students’ academic and practical skills in the Arabic language and deepening their understanding of the culture and literature of the Arab world. Its mission is to train specialists proficient in the Arabic language, literature, criticism, and translation, as well as capable researchers in related fields.
Establishment and Vision:
The Department of Arabic Language and Literature was founded in line with the university’s mission to expand knowledge and promote academic and cultural exchange with the Arab world. Over the years, by employing experienced faculty members and up-to-date educational programs, the department has played a significant role in teaching Arabic language and literature and advancing research in the field.
Educational Programs:
Bachelor’s Program in Arabic Language and Literature
This program familiarizes students with the four core language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) as well as the foundations of classical and contemporary Arabic literature, preparing them for entry into more specialized fields.
Master’s Program in Arabic Literature and Arabic Translation
In the Arabic Literature track, students engage in an in-depth study of literary texts, literary criticism and analysis of classical and modern works, and the exploration of intellectual and cultural movements. In the Arabic Translation track, students develop specialized and literary translation skills from Arabic to Persian and vice versa.
