Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili started its educational activities in 1989. Training specialized professionals required by the country, achieving expertise in various fields of modern technologies, attracting talented individuals and researchers, and conducting applied research to create and provide the knowledge needed to address the present and future demands are among the primary objectives of the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty endeavors to operate in line with other active universities in the country to meet national scientific and technological needs.
The Faculty of Engineering at University of Mohaghegh Ardabili started its educational activities in 1989. Training specialized professionals required by the country, achieving expertise in various fields of modern technologies, attracting talented individuals and researchers, and conducting applied research to create and provide the knowledge needed to address the present and future demands are among the primary objectives of the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty endeavors to operate in line with other active universities in the country to meet national scientific and technological needs.
Currently, the first phase of the faculty building, covering an area of 6,000 m2, is used for educational purposes, while the second phase, which includes laboratories and workshops, spans 2,500 m2 and is already operational. The third phase of the faculty, with an area of 4,800 m2, is under construction. Additionally, the Structural Engineering–Seismic Laboratory, equipped with a shake table and strong floor, is being set up. The Energy and Environmental Engineering Laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering department has also obtained certification as an accredited environmental laboratory.
At present, the faculty has 8 academic departments (Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Architecture Engineering, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering and Mining Engineering) and offers 43 academic programs (10 undergraduate programs, 23 master programs, and 10 Ph.D. programs). The faculty continues its educational and research activities with 78 academic staff members and more than 3,200 students.

The faculty has a team of experienced academic staff, including professors, associate professors, and assistant professors, many of whom are involved in both national and international research projects. They provide support to students through lectures, seminars, and research projects.
The university provides modern facilities and resources for students, including access to laboratories, library resources, and mathematical software that aid in both learning and research.

- In 2024, five faculty members, students, and researchers from the Faculty of Engineering were recognized among the top 1% most highly cited scientists in the world.
- In the same year, six faculty members and researchers from the faculty were listed among the top 2% most highly cited scientists globally.
- The Faculty of Engineering achieved 7th place worldwide in the Affordable & Clean Energy category of the 2023 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
- The faculty ranked 3rd nationally in the Engineering category of the 2023 Times Higher Education Subject Rankings.
- It secured 1st place nationally in the field of Materials Science and Engineering in the Shanghai Subject Rankings for both 2022 and 2023.
- In the 2023 Shanghai Subject Rankings, the faculty ranked 6th nationally in the field of Energy Science & Engineering.
