Modal Analysis Laboratory

The Modal Analysis Laboratory is dedicated to the experimental identification and analysis of the dynamic characteristics of mechanical structures, including natural frequencies, mode shapes, and damping ratios. Using advanced equipment such as vibration exciters, accelerometers, data acquisition systems, and spectrum analyzers, students and researchers perform modal testing on beams, plates, frames, and machine components. The laboratory provides practical insight into structural resonance, dynamic response, and validation of finite element models. Research at the facility focuses on structural health monitoring, optimization of dynamic behavior, and noise–vibration reduction techniques in mechanical systems.
