Teacher’s day celebrated honoring the ex-chancellors and the
founder of the university.
In Iran, the 2nd of May is known as the teacher’s day
marking the martyrdom of great scholar Morteza Motahhari in 1979 and also
according to some of Dr. Abolhasan Khanali in 1961. The event was celebrated in a great gathering of the faculty
members in the main hall of the university. The celebration was a sensation as
the ex-chancellors and the founder of the university attended the ceremony and
the re:::::::::union::::::::: gave rise to fits of excitement. They all addressed the ceremony and
expressed their thanks for the invitation and also their appreciation of the
great strides UMA has taken in a short period of time.
The incumbent chancellor welcomed the guests and
congratulated the faculty on the teacher’s day and briefed about the current
status of the university. The event also included awarding the guests, the top faculty
members and also a few retiring staff.
Finally Professor Morteza Honari from Austrailia addressed
the faculty members on the latest developments in education and teaching
methodologies.
