Dr. Yashar Azizian-Kalandaragh is assistant professor of physics in the physics department at university of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Ardabil, Iran, where he serves as a part time lecturer since 2006. He joined the faculty in 2011, after working as a post doctoral researcher in the field of physical optics at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), Zanjan, Iran. Dr. Azizian obtained his PhD in Solid State Physics-Nanophysics of Semiconductors, from Baku State University with collaboration of Moscow State University in 2008, an MSc in Nuclear Physics from Guilan University in 2004, and a BSc in Physics from University of Mohaghegh Ardabili in 2002. Dr. Azizian has been awarded the prestigious best year student while he pursuing his PhD in 2008 and also he awarded and selected as the year best researcher at IASBA-Zanjan in 2010. Dr. Azizian’s Research focuses on topics directly related to low-dimensional physics and nanotechnology, including semiconductor nanophysics, optical properties of low-dimensional systems, electron transport in semiconductor nanostructures and related areas. His main research areas are production of different nanosized systems and experimental characterization of prepared structures. He also works on theoretical consideration of semiconductor devices like photovoltaic cells and thermoelectric devices.
